True Balance @ SVAC
A beautiful partnership!
April 18, 2013 heralded the launch of a truly innovative concept: fitness, bioidentical hormones and medical grade aesthetics in a full service spa setting. Together, we share the common goal of creating opportunities for valued Clients to optimize their health, fitness and longevity!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Has SVAC changed its focus?
A: Yes and no - we have expanded it! Sturgeon Valley Athletic Club remains fully committed to our Vision-Mission statement and will remain a health and fitness Club, first and foremost. By partnering with True Balance, we are providing Club Members (and local residents) with the opportunity to further enhance their physical well-being and longevity via an industry leading partner (True Balance), at one convenient location!
Q: Are Hormones and Exercise a good fit?
A: Absolutely! Dr. Brown is extremely excited about the synergies that exist between BHRT and Resistance Training in terms of improving an individual's physical longevity and mental alertness. Every BHRT Client will undergo a full blood screen, consultation and custom prescription while receiving recommendations for SVAC's fitness services. There will also be Longevity "combination" packages including BHRT, Personal Training, and fitness benchmarking (Bod Pod and Fit Mate Pro).
Q: Could some medical aesthetics body treatments be considered "cheating" or "invasive"?
A: That depends on an individual's personal beliefs! Body contouring can be great for that last minute fine tuning before a special event or trip, but it does not replace the physical benefits of regular cardiovascular and resistance exercise. More and more people (men and women!) are receiving injectable and filler treatments these days without looking "over done". True Balance will not be performing any surgical procedures (liposuction, augmentation, etc). The friendly True Balance team will be happy to answer any further questions that you may have on their range of services.
Q: What happened to SVAC's Massage staff?
A: All of our Wellness personnel have transferred over to True Balance including Mark Valcourt & Dianne Kovacs (both Registered Massage Therapists). So there are still lots of familiar faces as well as new ones!
Q: Will I still be able to book Massage & Esthetics appointments online?
A: Yes, can still book online via the "hot buttons" on SVAC's home page! You will be automatically directed to the True Balance website and its online booking system.
Q: Will True Balance have a different telephone number?
A: Yes, it is 587-290-2290 although you can still call the main SVAC line and we will transfer your call.
Q: Will True Balance hours be the same as SVAC?
A: No, are not quite as extensive, but the Massage Therapists are still able to accept appointments outside of official spa hours.
Q: Will I be able to charge True Balance services to my SVAC personal account?
A: Sorry, no. We are operating on two separate software and accounting systems. You will be required to make payment in person at the end of your True Balance service.
Q: Will True Balance accept SVAC gift cards?
A: Yes, you just need to redeem your gift card at SVAC's Membership Service Desk and then proceed to True Balance for your treatment. Our Membership personnel will issue you a voucher that True Balance will accept at full face value.
Q: Will I be able to earn Perkville points at True Balance?
A: Sorry, no. This is an accounting and software logistical challenge. But True Balance is working on its own loyalty and rewards program that you will be able to participate in.
Q: Which door will SVAC Members use to access the Club?
A: Club Members will still be required to enter via the official front doors on the Campbell Road side of the building. True Balance will have their own access via the side door during their hours of operation. SVAC Members will still be required to check in at the Membership Desk each visit and to receive their Perkville points!!
Q: Can Club Members still use the door in the True Balance area to access Studio # 2?
A: Absolutely! Please continue to use the door and corridor as before.
Q: Will SVAC / True Balance continue to carry the Yonka and Sothys skin care lines?
A: Yes, for now. The existing inventories have been transferred to True Balance and their popularity will be monitored. True Balance carries "Comfort Zone", "Obagi" and other professional lines. Complimentary consultations are available.
Q: I didn't make it to Dr. Brown's introductory BHRT seminar in Spring 2013 - will he be hosting other ones in the future here at SVAC?
A: No confirmed dates as of yet but we certainly hope to host more in the near future!
